Course Reflection Page

Upon beginning the course I was skeptical, afraid this would be a repeat on ENC 1101, a course that required learning discourse communities and other jargon and then placing myself in a community. I was hoping ENC 1102 wouldn't repeat the structure of having three very specific papers and a seemingly less interesting topic. I felt so free when we were allowed to pick any research topic under the sun to examine for the whole semester! There were so many areas I wanted to explore and I was finally excited for an English class.
I feel that I have learned so much from this course including how to properly write a research paper and fun yet relevant tidbits from TedTalks. I am glad to finally have an English course that I can relate to my subject matter, not feel confused by jargon or terminology or bored by a topic I feel unconnected to.
I have learned so much about modesty through my research, even though in the beginning I really thought I knew most of the topic. I have grown through out my portfolio as a writer and thinker. Although my research proved my suspicions wrong and was a bit trickier to find that I had anticipated, I really did learn a lot about varying perspectives about modesty.
